A Certification Authority (CA) is an organisation responsible for the generation, issuance, revocation and management of certificates. The term refers to both root certification authorities (Root-CA) and subordinate certification authorities (Sub-CA).
The certificates of the root certification authorities (Root-CA) are pre-installed as trust anchors in the common applications or certificate stores of the operating systems. In special cases, this certificate can be installed later.
For validation of the certificate chain, the certificate of the intermediate certification authority (Sub-CA) must be installed in the common applications or certificate stores of the operating systems.

Today, South Korea’s SK Telekom announced the commercial launch of a blockchain-based digital identity app developed with telecom companies KT and LG U+. Called ‘Pass’, the app enables verification of the user’s driving license to enable authentication for different services.

German telco Deutsche Telekom has added TVNow Premium, the streaming service from German broadcaster Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland, to its TV platform MagentaTV.
With the offer, which is part of the new subscription packages MagentaTV Smart and MagentaTV Smart Flex, MagentaTV customers can access TVNow content without a separate app.
In addition, both companies have agreed to expand their cooperation in the areas of technology, marketing and content. The focus is on addressable advertising.
Based on an open technological ecosystem and independent of global tech platforms, Telekom and RTL intend to develop joint solutions for the delivery of targeted advertising via MagentaTV that combine the high reach of linear TV with addressable TV.
The solutions to which RTL contributes its experience with the Smartclip platform are open to other partners from the media and TV industry. A first test is planned for next year.
